Listen To This!

Dear Everyone That Pays Attention To Our Band,

Hello. Hope you're doing well.

We're doing well. Amongst other things.

One of which is recording.

We are not recording the next full length Relient K record, however we have tracked thirteen new original songs that will be going on an EP. We're calling it The Nashville Tennis EP. We know its a lot of songs for an EP. Whatever.

As well as the EP, we're going to put out a B sides record. I'm not totally sure of how many tracks we're going to put on there, but we're aiming for 20+ for sure. As of right now, we're calling this The Bird And The Bee Sides.

The two albums together are going form a new release also called The Bird And The Bee Sides. We're hoping to release it on the earlier side of the summer.

In addition to this, we've got a bunch of other tricks up our sleeves. We just gotta run it all past the suits first. God bless 'em.

Hopefully this gives all of you a little idea of what we're up to. I wish we had a little more confirmation on The Details, but we'll clue you in when that happens.

House Of Hooray.

One of the best records I've heard in a long time is House Of Heroes' upcoming release, The End Is Not The End. They're my good buddies, so I received the honor of getting my copy before they release it on iTunes this summer. Trust me, I still get goosebumps at all the right moments. Epic stuff.

They're giving away three of these great songs right here. Free stuff is good, but good free stuff is the best.

New News

Some of you may have noticed a few new shows have been posted. We're going to do a little run of shows in March to help break Ethan Luck in on the drums. We held a few auditions last week, and all of us feel like Ethan will be perfect for the gig. Come to a show and judge for yourself. Ha.
We'll be playing a few other crazy places before Warped, so keep a look out for more dates, yo. RK

Not Much.

Hey everyone. We feel like the house that waits til almost February to take down their Christmas decorations. We finally got rid of the Christmas stuff on the site, and we're taking a bit of time off. We do have a show on the books for March, so obviously someone new will be behind the drum kit. We'll keep you posted. Happy January 19th to you.

Merry Christmas from Relient K!

Posted on 12/23/2007

In our very amateur way, we wanted to wish all of you guys a very merry Christmas. Its been a really cool 2007 for us. We put out two records, and we were part of a couple amazing tours (two of our absolute favorites). We're sad to see Dave leave at the end of the year, but as we wish him the best, we're still excited to make this next year a great one.

We want to thank all of our family, friends, label, management, and crew for all the support we received last year. However, more than anyone else we want to give a big Christmassy hug to all of you that enjoy our music. You're the reason that we've been able to be play shows for the last ten years. Well... it'll be the tenth year anniversary of our first show on December 30, 2007. Its pretty great to get to do something we love for this long, and we owe it all to you guys. Thanks so much, and Merry Christmas to you all. Relient K

Woodland Forest - O Holy Nightmare

Posted on 11/24/2007

Ok so it's been about an eternity since I've worked on Woodland Forest, and for that I apologize, but finally today a new "episode" is being released. Really it's a Christmas Special, and it stars Crosby the Reindeer singing a Christmas carol. Our friend Josh from Emery showed us a demo that someone sent in to a record label of a guy trying to sing "O Holy Night". It's both quite painful and enjoyable to listen to, so I thought it'd be a good idea to make a lovable reindeer sing it after pitching the song up a bit. Here's the result.

Merry Christmas to all!

Sad News

After seven years of touring, recording, and rehearsing, Dave Douglas has decided to leave Relient K. His final show will be 12/29. As a part of Relient K, he has been an amazing drummer, singer, collaborator, and friend. Before Dave joined the band, we were plagued with drummer turnover. Although he was the fifth drummer in two years, the moment he joined was the first time we ever felt like a complete band. He will be missed on the stage and on the road, and we wish him all the best.

I know that there have been some rumors and speculation about my future in Relient K. I suppose I should clear that up. The time has, in fact, come for me to leave the band. This has been a very difficult decision, but I know that this is the right one. Relient K has been a huge part of my life and I'm sure that it is going to take a long time to get used to not being a part of the band any more. I've had a lot of good times, met a lot of great people, and been able to go a lot of places. it's been a blessing and a pleasure to work with Matt, Matt, John, and Jon. Also, I want to thank everyone else who has been involved with the band, especially those who have been on the road with us. Our fans are amazing and I want to thank all of you for your support and enthusiasm.

I am moving on to new music projects, and I hope that I will still have all of your support. Come the first of the year I will be devoting most of my time to Gypsy Parade . Feel free to look us up and say hi. Until then I will playing with Relient K, so I've got a few more shows left in me. I suppose that this is my "farewell tour." hopefully I, and the rest of Relient K, will see you at one of them.
Thanks to all of you.

-Dave Douglas
